Editorial and monetization policy

Short version: manuals first, numbers over adjectives, dated and correctable, and the ads never decide what gets written.

Sourcing

Procedures are drawn from manufacturer service manuals, installation manuals, and spec sheets, and from standards where relevant (for example NFPA 1192 for RV propane and venting). Each guide lists the documents consulted. Forum threads and videos are used to find out which failures are common, not as the source for a procedure.

Accuracy and numbers

A figure presented as a specification comes from a document. A figure presented as "typical" or as a range is a reasonable expectation across common units and is labeled that way. The site does not present a number as measured on our own equipment unless it was.

Safety line

Guides do not describe bypassing or defeating safety devices (ECOs, limit switches, thermal fuses, breakaway switches, sail switches), modifying propane regulators, or working inside an energized 120-volt panel. Each guide with a propane, 120 V, or jacking step includes a stop box describing when to hand the job to a certified technician.

Dates and corrections

Every guide displays its publish date and its last substantive revision. Dates are not changed for cosmetic edits. Corrections that are verified against the manufacturer documentation are applied and the revision date is updated. Send corrections through the contact page.

Software and drafting assistance

Writing software, including AI drafting tools, may be used to organize and draft text in the same way a word processor or grammar checker is used. It is never the source of a procedure, reading, or part number. A person checks every step against the referenced document before publication and is responsible for the result. Images are never generated.

Advertising

The site is funded by display advertising served by Google AdSense and, in future, possibly by another advertising partner. Ads are labeled "Advertisement." Advertisers do not see guides before publication, do not choose topics, and are not mentioned in guides because they advertise. Ad density is kept below the industry Better Ads Standards limits, and ads are not placed where they could be confused with navigation or with the steps of a procedure.

Affiliate links and sponsorship

At the time of writing the site contains no affiliate links and no sponsored content. If affiliate links are added, a disclosure will appear at the top of each page that contains one, and links will carry the appropriate rel attribute. Products are named because they are the part the manual calls for or a common, well-regarded alternative, not because of any commercial arrangement.
